The first day of the maritime heritage management project #CulturalProtectionFund included presentations from Maritime Endangered Archaeology and our partners from Egypt, Libya and Palestine discussing their work in #Libya and #Palestine stay tuned for some amazing #redsea diving photos!

Today the training was all about the most effective techniques and maintaining stability under water, skills that are essential for archaeological underwater survey. Now we are ready to practice some underwater survey techniques tomorrow! Palestine Exploration Fund #culturalprotectionfund

Training continues apace. The team are practicing the linear survey technique with a swim line. Synchronised swimming cultural heritage style! This is tricky as everyone has to swim at the same speed and depth, but they are doing great. Practice makes perfect!

More diving techniques today. The emphasis was on improving buoyancy, an essential skill in #maritimearchaeology. Today was all about photography.
