Incredible work by Theo Clarke MP and BirthTrauma who, along with other amazing organisations, are paving the way for better outcomes for all who access maternity services. It is wonderful and inspirational to see these changes taking place.

How the hell was Health Secretary Steve Barclay allowed to get away with spouting this much bull**** about the NHS doctors strikes?!

Let’s add some actual REALITY to what he told viewers this morning!

A small snippet of what happened before and during the birth of my twins. There was much more that went badly wrong post birth, leaving my physical and psychological health in tatters. The system is broken, patients and staff are suffering as a result.

2/2 Or treated as if they are a nuisance. The midwife behaves this way in front of a camera crew, how would she act if they weren’t there? Why enter a caring profession only to sneer at, invalidate & humiliate a labouring woman? This is sadly not uncommon, it’s simply unsafe.

This video reminds me of when I reported feeling desperately unwell and was glibly told by my midwife ‘this is all part and parcel of the end of a twin pregnancy.’ I had preeclampsia, which went undiagnosed until it was almost too late. So many times parents are dismissed 1/2

5 people, paying 250k to travel in an unsafe vessel to a dangerous place.
500 people, in an unsafe vessel, trying desperately to get to a safe place.
Why do some people feel such a connection with the first group, but not the second?

Last week I was away, so this is technically slightly more than . That’s my way of apologising for it being fucking massive.

Remember to tap 'more replies' if they don't immediately show.

It's Friday. My advice: it's best to do this drunk.

Here we go...🧵

I was going to do but it’s been so quiet.

You should be so lucky. It’s an absolute fucking casserole. 111 points in a week.

At some point you’ll need to tap “Show replies”, or give up and get howling drunk instead. Bottoms up!

“I don’t think PTSD and PND are spoken about enough – I felt the stigma and didn't want the label of having a mental health issue or being a bad mum. Now I’ve spoken about it and more people have experienced it than you think.” buff.ly/3NCIrFK

I agree with every single sentiment in this letter. SATS are an utterly pointless exercise, creating untold stress for children whilst having absolutely no bearing on their future, aside from knocking their confidence prior to the already daunting transition to secondary school.

I’ve added some actual FACTS to the Prime Ministers wild claims on poverty, dentist & GP numbers at today. If you are as sick of this as I am RT this widely - let’s make sure the country knows the TRUTH

There’s never enough money to pay for NHS staff and teachers.
There’s always plenty of money to pay for wars and coronations.
