I really try never to give advice on here but the Discourse from New Haven reminds me that it's a good idea, if you have been active in your grad union, and now applying for jobs, to have a friendly pair of eyes read your letters of rec. before you have them sent.

Thinking about this academic 'calling' I inhabit as I fill in a spreadsheet to indicate how I have been hitting benchmarks in 'reducing classroom density' while also 'meeting minimum enrollment' levels.
