One World Media gal-dem Never make the assumption that you have all the answers without doing the reporting and listening first. Accept that mistakes will happen, but do what you can to learn from them, and think about how they can guide you to avoid it happening again 4/4

One World Media gal-dem I can’t emphasise enough how important listening is, and letting the story guide you, rather than the reverse. I think it’s quite obvious when a story has been written thesis-first and with assumptions (or even stereotypes) in mind, without the reporting material or evidence 3/4

One World Media gal-dem There are two rules that a dear mentor once taught me: first, that a journalist must never assume anything, and second, the answers lie in reporting, reporting and reporting. I think these are foundational in building accuracy and respect into any story 2/4
