This is very exciting from Louise Haigh (anytime you want a cycle round London Cycling Campaign here for you)! In article, Louise says "unprecedented" funding levels for active travel on way, clear on link to health, climate, long-term funding settlements, routes designed for women & more.
Is London better than Manchester? (for active travel) To find out, we visited Westminster City Council, City of London, Hackney Council and Waltham Forest Council Thanks also to our hosts London Cycling Campaign and the lovely JoyRiders
With the London mayor and central Govt being the same political hue, what should key componenets of a long-term transport strategy be? LCC's Simon Munk writes for Transport Intelligence changing status quo, future generations, health all part of solution. transportxtra.com/publications/l…
Meetings with Andrew Gilligan were often... fiery on both our sides. He was Mayor BoJo's cycling commissioner when I joined London Cycling Campaign. There's some stuff we decidedly didn't agree on. But his points here on council delivery, funding & next steps for Louise Haigh are spot on!...
Great news for these areas & again class leading action from #WFMiniHolland Labourstone & Grace Williams putting in #SchoolStreets inside LTNs rather than using one as proxy for other & extending such schemes to secondary schools not just primary.
Open letter from our #Westminster group: Where are Westminster's cycleways? 🔥 This is a Labour council with a Labour Mayor & now Labour govt, in central London, with v low car ownership & huge appetite for more active travel. So, when will Westminster City Council ... do something? 🤔
