You destroyed a library. It was MORE than a library, it was a food bank, a source of heat for people in the winter, a place for kids from low income families to use the internet, or do their homework. Why destroy something so vital? Yeah you’re so patriotic guys.

Solidarity, love and strength to everyone affected by this weekend's appalling violence. Thank you to the tens of thousands of people, many in Cities of Sanctuary, who have stood up for their neighbours & cleaned up after these mobs. There are far more of us than of them.

Some people don't like the word 'Islamophobic'. I'm trying to think of another word that describes 'attacking a mosque' or 'attacking people because they "look Muslim".'

Together with my independent colleagues, I have written to the Home Secretary requesting an urgent meeting in light of the far-right riots. We must call out this violence for what it is: rampant Islamophobia.

We need unity and assurance in the face of violent racists. All public bodies and employers should call out the whipping up of anti-Muslim hatred, and support employees & communities. Freedom to protest should be a protected right. But freedom to attack citizens & police should

Despite appalling loss of childrens’ lives in tragic stabbing, and efforts of fascists to exploit and tear apart a mourning community, Southport came together in beautiful vigil. The care, strength and solidarity a shining example of the best of humanity even in the depths of

I’m so proud to be Brummie. A local refugee charity was on the hit list for a fascist ‘demo’ last night. Bullies picking on the most vulnerable. Hundreds turned up to show that we would not leave them isolated in the face of threats, and that it is racists who are not welcome.

Fascists brought fear to cities across the UK with over 100 ‘events’ advertised targeting Muslims and migrants. Businesses shut early & people were urged to stay at home & uncertainty hung over the nation. However tens of thousands of courageous, compassionate people flooded the

This is a derogation of much needed moral leadership at this time. Labour MPs & councillors should be a visible presence at such events, making clear their siding with those who reject racism. That’s what would assure communities. Thankfully the moral vacuum is being filled by

Please watch this important eye witness account by Peter Oborne who spoke directly to Palestinians tortured in Israel’s camps. The parallels with #AbuGhraib and #Guantanamo are stark. He is right to point out that the silence & lack of condemnation by our UK media and senior
