Folks, the best film to stream at home this week is Joanna Arnow's THE FEELING THAT THE TIME FOR DOING SOMETHING HAS PASSED which just came to VOD starting today. A stellar feature debut, it's frequently bitting, consistently silly, and often somber all at once. Highly recommend.

If Memorial Day Weekend found you too busy to get to the movies, there’s still a week’s worth of FURIOSA showings left at the Pacific Science Center’s gorgeous IMAX screen, the best place in Seattle to appreciate the prequel’s visual and sonic delights.

While I should be sleeping, sharing one final reflective thread about this year's festival. Met so many great people whose work I respect and also saw many outstanding films about which I was honored to write. Thus, here are some of the reviews I was proud of writing

Fans will rejoice that George Miller has delivered yet another stellar action film saturated in the gritty red dust of the vast Australian desert. buff.ly/3WQHQ83

SEAN BAKER'S ANORA JUST WON THE PALME D'OR! Mark this moment as the beginning of the ascendance of the magnificent Mikey Madison. Honestly, while there were many great works in competition, could not be more overjoyed this incisive, thrilling film took the top award.

GRAND TOUR: Miguel Gomes’ film is an experience in which we may spend a lifetime grasping for something, only to find it always out of reach. Even if you look to the sky and see the bigger picture, it may be too late.

I wrote about Guan Hu’s Un Certain Regard winner (and should have been Palme Dog winner) Black Dog here at In Review Online. Hope I’m the first one to quote this particular Dylan song in my review of it.

It’s George Miller’s dystopian wasteland high-octane world, and we’re all lucky we get to experience it. Witness on the biggest screen possible.

To change it up by showing folks back in Seattle some love since I've probably been annoying the hell out of them with posts about things they can't yet see, the best film of the year still remains I SAW THE TV GLOW which is returning to SIFF today. It's utterly outstanding.

While not perfect (some visible shortcuts taken), George Miller’s is a must-ride experience continuing the Mad Max legacy not to new heights, but certainly to newfound places deep at its base. Pure summer cinema.

THE SEED OF THE SACRED FIG: Mohammad Rasoulof's latest film is a radical triumph of cinema. It's not just the best of the festival (C'MON PALME D'OR!), but it's certain to be one of the year's best. It's a remarkable work of art.

For me, the better movie would be to watch 148 minutes of Furiosa surviving this world as a 10-year-old. My review of FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA (MAD MAX: FURIOSA).

FURIOSA: George Miller is the maniac movies need. His latest is a magnificent tapestry of violence and redemption with a great performance from Anya Taylor-Joy. Watch it SIFF then roll right on to Fury Road immediately following.
