Reminder that I'm mostly active over at Mastodon (haven't yet fixed my blog, should do that real soon) and am only replying and retweeting here, not posting any posts of my own.

This is a key point. Node.js is not competing against any other runtime. Companies compete for market share because they need to make money to survive. Node.js is just a community of folks building stuff for themselves and other folks. It's fundamentally not the same thing.

When license terms are changed a vendor will often say “nothing changes for 99% of our users.”
