Friends, if you think your friends or followers or colleagues would benefit from this course (if they are devs they probably would!) please help spread the word. 📣

Let's bring back the pre-Musk power of the Twitter dev community 💪

Reminder that I'm mostly active over at Mastodon (haven't yet fixed my blog, should do that real soon) and am only replying and retweeting here, not posting any posts of my own.

This is a key point. Node.js is not competing against any other runtime. Companies compete for market share because they need to make money to survive. Node.js is just a community of folks building stuff for themselves and other folks. It's fundamentally not the same thing.

When license terms are changed a vendor will often say “nothing changes for 99% of our users.”

Madelyn Olson said, “what they’re really not seeing is that all of the contributors that currently worked on Redis often won’t work with that new license.”

Yagiz Nizipli If you instead of subtweeting an excerpt of my comment would include the full comment then it would make sense: github.com/nodejs/node/pu…

There are multiple other factors in a project that are also important.

One such is maintainability, no?

Do you manage package.json files? Here's something you might not know you actually need (hat tip to the prolific Pelle Wessman):

Lots of `xz` takes like “I wish someone could figure out how to pay maintainers to help stem this sort of problem”.

So, hi: at Tidelift that’s what we’ve done for years.

👇🏽isn’t opportunistic; it has been our mission from day 1. CTOs, CISOs: drop us a note—salesTidelift.com.

Marco Ippolito Dont worry. I am not playing the blame game ;). But tbh. this is exactly a worst case scenario which Pelle Wessman mentioned few days ago in a chat: You upgrade node and your tests fail because of a change in the test runner.

'Where utility classes come in is they allow you to make occasional exceptions to these generalized styling rules.

[..] Utility-first CSS is exception-first CSS. And that’s not how exceptions work, in or in general.'

👉🏻What is Utility-first CSS?

I've been working with AR headsets since 2016.

I have a lot to say on the Apple Vision Pro. I’ll say it in a series of videos covering a few features at a time with their historical context.

Chapter 1: Input

Refresher: TypeScript can check JavaScript files with JSDoc annotations.

We want to add a new JSDoc tag to import things that can only be used in type positions.

The tag name should be....
