This autumn has been dire but finally got some migrants on Aldon this morning: 1 Pied Fly, 4+ Spot Fly, 5 Willow Warb & 1 Mipit.

A bad patch birder recently. But lunch abandoned at 1pm for a half mile twitch on foot for Wryneck at Clevedon Pill. Thanks to Jack for find & swift news & Chris Craig & others for messaging me. 😀 (Thankfully I have found one on patch before so not kicking myself too much.)

Rhingia rostrata a new species for me in the garden this afternoon

One of each Rhingia species (campestris and rostrata) in the garden this evening allowing for nice comparison.

I walked up onto Abbotsbury Beach today and had a brief view of a Pipit on the shingle. It called once as it took off, a Sparrow-like 'chillip'. I immediately thought 'Tawny'. It landed again briefly before flying off and lost. All over in a minute but I got these two photos.
