This beautiful, thought-provoking poem reflects the awe that every child (and adult) feels when gazing at the night sky, knowing that the stars they are looking at died a long, LONG time ago.

This wonderful, lyrical poem celebrates Vera Rubin. Vera was fascinated by the stars and refused to listen when she was told girls couldn't be astronomers. She overcame obstacles and made her dream come true, paving the way for other girls.

These 2 poems by Carmela Martino in Tyger Tyger Magazine are BRILLIANT! As a kid, I had no idea that math could be interesting and fun. I wish I'd had an opportunity to read these poems then AND use them years later when I was teaching.
