💙 Last month, a team from the Frankel CVC returned to Zambia to guide and assist a cardiac surgical team through multiple procedures, including the country’s first aortic valve replacement using the Y-incision annular enlargement, a technique developed at Michigan Medicine.

Dr. Jonathan Haft and I had the privledge of visiting the famous Vienna MCS Program today. Thank you Thomas Schlöglhofer and Dr. Julia Riebandt, international MCS experts, for graciously hosting us. We can certainly see why their program is world renowned!

We have done 140+ consecutive now, including two cases of endocarditis. The results remained the same. Hemodynamics and LVH further improved in the second year. Median AVA went up to 2.4 cm2, and mean gradient remained 6-7 mmHg, better than TAVR (presented at STS 2023)
