A patrol ride on the @nationalmallnps is a great way for the officers in our Horse Mounted Academy to demonstrate their skills. The hard work these officers put in throughout this course will be celebrated at their graduation later this week!

April 14-20 is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. This week we celebrate the dedication of our team members that serve in our 3 dispatch operations centers and the technicians that support our telecommunications operations. Thank you!

Our Aviation Unit serves an incredible mission providing law enforcement service and emergency medevac care to the communities in the Washington, D.C. area. The officers that serve on the Eagle are always training to be prepared for when they are needed most.

During a special ceremony at headquarters, a new honorary chief was sworn in by Chief Taylor. Our new honorary chief got right to work, and we are proud he is a part of our team!

Last week, our Traffic Safety Unit conducted a 2-day commercial vehicle safety operation on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway with regional partners. Remember commercial vehicles are prohibited on all National Park Service roads in the Washington Metropolitan Area.

After several weeks celebrating spring on the @nationalmallnps, the #CherryBlossom Parade was a great way to close out this year's amazing festival.

Today we honor Private Joseph E. Shawhan, whose service tragically ended on April 15, 1944. Private Shawhan served with the United States Park Police for 24 years and will always be remembered.

Members of the @interior team joined this month's run with Assistant Chief Cunningham. Motivated by the DOI Law Enforcement Task Force, Chief Taylor and Assistant Chief Cunningham created monthly wellness programs focused on a healthy and effective workforce.

This year's Presidio of San Francisco Public Safety Day was a great time. Officers enjoyed teaching about the different ways we work to keep everyone safe. Our field office is celebrating their 50th anniversary and we are proud to be a part of this great community.

#Congratulations to members of our investigations team for completing the @interior Investigator Training Program. All three received the Academic Award for their final scores. This program is professional development for investigators in Major Crimes and Internal Affairs.

Chief Taylor was at the finish line congratulating members of the Park Watch Running Club that competed in the @cucb 🌸 10-Miler. Our Physical Fitness Program Manager started this running club as a way to prioritize employee wellness and promote team building.
