- Reykjanes eruption continues at a lower intensity from confined craters
- Magma source interpreted to be from Svartsengi where it's been accumulating since 2020
- Lava area estimated 3.7 km2 and hasn't grown much since the first night of the eruption

Compared with avaiable published and unpublished data, the ongoing 2023 eruption has very similar MgO and TiO2 content to that of historical and prehistorical eruptions in Svartsengi, but the K2O/TiO2 is comparable to late erupted lavas during the 2021-23 Fagradalsfjall eruptions
