Today, NIWR asked U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate Goldman Sachs for “possible violations of the securities laws.” Goldman Sachs publically committed to increasing the diversity of their workforce while simultaneously funding anti-diversity organizations. #DEI niwr.org/2024/05/07/ltr…

Thank you Suzanne Bonamici Rep. Bobby Scott and Ed Markey for introducing the Equal Remedies Act of 2024, eliminating damage caps for employment discrimination in civil rights cases, and allowing those who experience age discrimination to pursue compensatory and punitive damages.

NIWR stands for economic dignity for all workers. Without proactive efforts to break down barriers that have traditionally excluded women and people of color from opportunities at work, discrimination will operate unchecked.

90% of service workers experience violations of their workplace rights, but <1% report them to labor agencies. Retaliation, lack of information, lack of faith in our enforcement system are huge barriers. We need to protect PAGA so brave whistleblowers can fight for all!

Monopolies: 👉Bad for consumers (high prices) 👉Bad for democracy (corporations get too much political power) 👉Also bad for workers! They lower wages & job options. Pat_Garofalo & I wrote in The Hill about state antitrust bills that would help. thehill.com/opinion/financ…

It’s already way too easy for employers to retaliate against union organizers and get away with it. But the Supreme Court just made it even easier. Read Jenny Hunter and Terri Gerstein on the Starbucks case.

We agree with ColorOfChange -- it's not OK for Goldman Sachs to be funding anti-diversity, anti-opportunity while claiming to be committed to a more diverse workforce. That's why we asked them to stop and the SEC to investigate. niwr.org/2024/05/29/let…
