#OtD 28 Apr 1958 a general strike began in Malta against British colonial authorities, protesting low pay and the closure of the dry docks. Workers blocked roads and rioted, and 100 were arrested and jailed. It sowed the seeds of independence in 1964 stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/9975/m…
