Under the Joint Study, a visit was held in Chiang Saen station to meet with community reps based on Chiang Rai 🇹🇭& learn abt their experiences with the changing flow regime, its challenges on daily livelihoods, adaptation measures implemented & what recommendations for MRC-LMC.

CEO Anoulak Kittikhoun received a visit from the Lancang-Mekong Water Resources Cooperation Center headed by Mr. Hao Zhao, Secretary General. The two discussed progress and common aims to uplift the cooperation among six riparian countries of the #Lancang - #Mekong river basin.

US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian & Pacific Affairs Kritenbrink reaffirmed the US support and commitment to the mandate and critical role of the MRC in the Mekong with CEO Anoulak Kittikhoun & discussed potential areas of further cooperation.

The MRC's 26th Dialogue Meeting discussed
☑️the Joint Study with China🇨🇳 on the Changing Pattern of Hydrological Conditions of the Lancang-Mekong River Basin & Adaptation Strategies
☑️the proposal for cooperation with Myanmar🇲🇲 on discharge measurement at Xieng Kok Station.

CEO Anoulak Kittikhoun met DG Mark Smith Mark Smith and South East Asia Regional Representative Mark Dubois of IWMI and discussed MRC-IWMI cooperation in water use accounting, potential project for Lancang-Mekong cooperation & contribution to the upcoming #UN2023WaterConference .

Discussions between Minister Wong and Deputy PM Saleumxay on opportunities in the bilateral relationship and on regional and global issues were warm and open.

On 6 Oct 2022, CEO Anoulak Kittikhoun gave a talk n Mekong cooperation past, present and future to an interested group of graduate students and researchers at Korea University, Seoul.

The lecture was hosted by Professor Seungho Lee of the Graduate School of International Studies.

Anoulak Kittikhoun at the 1st #Mekong - #Korea International Water Forum on 5 October 2022, senior officials from Mekong countries and Korea discussed challenges and opportunities in the Mekong.
