The utterly brilliant and thought provoking John Amaechi OBE kicking off Solace #solacesummit23 this morning with powerful words of wisdom about leadership. The buzz in the room post his session is just amazing.

My first day Solace #solacesummit23 has been really thought provoking and challenging. Sitting reflecting on the mirror that a lot of the sessions have encouraged us to hold up around our leadership responsibilities. Lots to take back and made some great new connections.

Wow! What a great session from Professor Lucy Easthope #solacesummit23 and book “when the dust settles” already on order…so many lessons not just for emergency planning but making me think how to apply techniques in other situations. Love the fact she describes herself as a wild card!

Amazing, exhausting weekend of less than 9 hours sleep over 2 nights. Pack holiday is done! Lovely Brownie parents know what full on weekend it is, great recovery pack Girls decided on a princess theme & I got to choose my character, always going to be spirited Merida from Brave!

I’ve got a week off coming up soon and I’ve started setting aside some books to take with me. Some I’m re-reading, other I’ve been wanting to savour. I think I might have a bit of a theme/obsession going on….running/leadership/power of the mind/equity….or a mix of all!!

My Girlguiding Brownies were fantastic tonight learning all about Dementia tonight with lots of different activities so they can all become Dementia Friends Really engaging evening that ended with them them all being given a postcard to write for local people with dementia

I realised I actually don’t own much clothing that’s yellow (apart from running tops!). Still wanting to show my support for Cystic Fibrosis Trust today given my friends son has incredible support from them! So if you have any work calls with me today this is why #WearYellowDay donation sent

Can’t believe that it’s a year ago today that I completed the Sierra Leone marathon & became a marathoner for the 1st time. The lifelong friendships, raised enough to support 180+families through Street Child amazing work & the courage to tackle more challenges that came my way

Way to start bank hol Monday, last “free” run before start training for Ealing Half Marathon in Sept with Coopah app. Last time I ran Ealing was v 1st one in 2012 when I was so slow I got my medal but never made it to the results list. Planning on a PB!! So many races since then!

I just have no words but total respect and in awe of such an amazing friendship.

Not many sleeps left to complete the set 😱 Street Child TCS New York City Marathon TCS London Marathon …. Final leg of the journey on Sunday. Not bad given had never run a marathon before June 22!
