'Young people receiving government support could have been up to $4700 better off over the last six months if Labor had lifted payments as its Economic Inclusion Advisory Committee recommended last year analysis shows.' archive.is/oSJIs#selectio…

Hey Andrew it's me again the economic castaway that you mentioned in your speech about building back better. I was diagnosed with scurvy and malnutrition a couple of years ago what caused it? Poverty that your government continues

Time's up for the Minister for Nothing

Minister Rishworth’s response to her own Economic Inclusion Advisory Committee report that “we can’t fund every good idea” is dripping with cynicism and contempt.

After her own Committee (again) recommended to , Minister Rishworth said that government 'can't fund every good idea' — a statement that's dripping with cynicism and contempt.

Fucking hell.

There is long-documented history of people being unable to afford the BARE ESSENTIALS on welfare payments, and yet it’s apparently not enough of a “good idea” to be funded.

Getting rid of poverty is MUCH more of a “good idea” than funding tax cuts and genocide.

the FUNNIEST recommendation is number 20. AUWU and Antipoverty Centre repeatedly pointed out that no one on Labor's advisory committee... actually experienced economic exclusion.

But boffins and columnists shouted them down.

Turns out the experts agree.

This is why it's important we advocate for ourselves. The hill report recommends keeping wftd we do not want this

NEW: the report from Labor's Economic Inclusion Advisory Committee just dropped

The first and primary recommendation: 'Substantially increase JobSeeker'

🧵
Organisations claiming to support poor people have shamefully written a letter calling for the government to implement the sham Workforce Australia inquiry report.

This report recommends keeping WftD, a program that killed Josh Park-Fing & injures countless people each year.

My expectations for you lot were already below sea level, but my god

Your 'reforms' proposed here would keep:
- Work for Dole
- Mutual obligations & payment suspensions for all cohorts (including people with disabilities, homeless ppl)
- And employment services in private hands

💧Sally Lawry MFW I'm in the same boat. Been kept on Jobseeker for 9 years after 8 assessments by Centrelink for DSP. I'd be living the high life on the Aged Pension ($400 extra p/f) if the LNP hadn't changed the retirement age. So for 14 more months I have to perform like a trained monkey.

Give them the dignity of being able to afford to eat more than once a day.
(At the same time as being able to afford shelter, utility bills, medication etc)

“[She] said more needed to be done… to help those trapped in this cycle, including raising the income-support payment”

'The reality is JobSeeker & other income support payments simply aren't enough to cover the basics”

Bendigo is suffering.

Please Lisa Chesters MP

Centrelink is fucked.

A friend of my family had glielcell blastoma and was terminal. Was getting bits of his brain removed routinely and was told to meet obligations.

His wife was suggested THEY DIVORCE, so she could get more carer's leave.

Sadly, if we can't get to a physical branch, we now have to call our local MPs to set up an appointment with Centrelink

Hey Services Australia !! I have a better chance of winning the lotto than getting through to centrelink.

Call to book an apt. But call centre is busy. Hangs up on you. Infinite loop. +40 attempts over 3 months. Months paying childcare. DO BETTER.

I have responded to this and basically wrote you a mini essay on why is important for autistic people. I really hope you listen since you've put 'nothing about us without us' in the strategy

nothing but piss weak propaganda from MPs who don’t give a shit about disabled people. if you gave a shit, you’d and stop needlessly torturing us with mutual obligations. you’d stop us being priced out of being alive.
