Imagine what a blockade can do to a small area of land with around 100K ppl.
Politics aside, it's a humanitarian issue.

Last summer Mariam Avetisian published her last season of A Desire to Live. It's a unique insight to Nagorno-Karabakh. I interviewed her and already back then said it's an isolated place - then it was more accessible than now.

Due to the blocking of the only road connecting Artsakh with Armenia by Azerbaijan (from Jan 9) the work of preschool groups of general education schools & schools operating in the extended day regime will be temporarily suspended due to insufficient food supplies for their STU‘s

Didn’t realize that “justice, peace and harmony” starts with starvation and death ☺️👏🤪

Day 20, New Year’s Eve, Azerbaijan continues the blockade of Lachin Corridor, keeping families apart, depriving people of basic provisions. Only ICRC has access to Nagorno Karabakh. People in NK will meet the New Year in siege of Azerbaijan. Which we will never forget.

🇦🇿 blocked the only road connecting Artsakh & 🇦🇲. They left 120k ppl without food, medicines, etc & now they are celebrating with fireworks while some ppl here literally have nothing to eat. While others don’t have the medicine they need. All because of the siege 🇦🇿 put us under.

Due to the blockade by Azerbaijan, Armen‘s wife, who has cancer, can‘t go to 🇦🇲 & receive another needed chemotherapy. Since Sept, the doctors said that the remission began. But unfortunately, b/c of the blockade, she isn’t able to reach 🇦🇲 & receive the necessary treatment.

Endless queues at ATMs.

Empty shelves.

From fruits and vegetables, only pomegranate and persimmon are available.

It’s already the 18th day people in Nagorno-Karabakh are under blockade*.

No food and goods have entered NK since Dec 12 as Azerbaijan keeps the sole road connecting NK to the outside world closed.

*A blockade is an act of war under international law.
