Does your blood gas routinely come with other tests? Do you use it and rely on it, or do you verify with the BMP or other tests?

What are the main problems you have with blood gases?
Reliable sample: A? V? mixed? tourniquet? etc
Interpretation includes both interpreting the immediate results and the comparison to prior, EMR use, etc.

Would you prefer it if blood gas results came with an automated interpretation?
1- like an EKG read, you'll glance at it
2- AI reads the gas and uses the entire chart such as historical blood gas values and other data
3- this is straightforward and doesn't need analysis

In the news recently, auto-brewery syndrome involves gut microbe fermentation of a high carb meal to ethanol.

Systemic absorption can lead to true intoxication.

The person literally makes their OWN alcohol 🤯
