Lebanon's health system faces multiple challenges, from hosting 1.5 million Syrian refugees to hostilities in the south targeting facilities and ambulances. Given this situation, Ministry of Public Health - Lebanon needs sustainable financing to maintain results as it continues to pursue health reforms.
Lebanon is very pleased to welcome HananBalkhyحنان بلخي, the Regional Director of WHO/EMRO. On her first day, she met with the Prime Minister, Minister of Health, and partners. She expressed WHO's commitment to continue supporting Lebanon's health system during this challenging period.
Pleasure to meet 🇱🇧 Prime Minister, His Excellency Najib Mikati. Health and economy are interrelated: the 3 WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean flagship initiatives on supply chain, health workforce and substance use will support #Lebanon to overcome health challenges and build on its existing strengths.
