يُعتبر الترصد البيئي أساساً هاماً في تعزيز الترصد لشلل الأطفال في #العراق . وحتى نتمكن من الحفاظ على وضع خالٍ من #شلل_الأطفال في العراق، ينبغي علينا التركيز على الترصد البيئي الفعال والمستمر، خصوصاً في مواقع التجمعات الدينية ومناطق الحركة ذات الكثافة السكانية العالية.

The workshop, which targeted 25 participants from maternal & pediatric hospitals in Erbil, Duhok & Sulaymaniyah, aimed to measure the health system's capacity in #Iraq and the need to improve the quality and availability of health services delivered to mothers and newborns.

To ensure effective environmental surveillance and early detection of possible polioviruses in the environment, surveillance and municipality staff from five governorates were trained on sewage sample collection, packaging and transportation of samples to the National #Polio Lab.
