2023 has been another busy year for us! With 1,216 waterbirds colour-marked of 11 species. Three new species have joined our studies & our online app has processed 12,500 sightings. Overall our datasets contain 63,400 sightings. Stay tuned for species updates!

Our study also provides new & updated information on the survival and mean dispersal distance (76km) for non-breeding Canada Geese. Annual mean survival rates ranged between 0.510 and 0.875 over the study period, with a mean of 0.654

This week, we've managed to catch 142 Black-headed Gulls for ringing, with 11 of these having GPS tags fitted. We also managed to read the rings of 164 previously ringed birds, topping up our newly ringed & resightings datasets nicely!
