Another excellent Coalition for Global Prosperity event, this time on global health. Lots for the UK to be proud of but lots still to do.
Interesting read. Good to see Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP’s Nov22 Doctors & Nurses private member’s bill on workforce migration referenced. Exciting to see THET’ thinking & #HealthPartnerships work evident in mutual benefit section. Look 4ward to supporting Coalition for Global Prosperity on this agenda
Good to hear the whole panel - Julia Gillard, Sajid Javid & Joe Cerrell - call for long-term consistent funding for R&D to maximise the impact of British science on tackling global challenges.
The UK remains at the forefront of some of the most crucial advances being made in global health.
With the world we face tomorrow, that leadership will become even more important. Delighted to contribute to this excellent Coalition for Global Prosperity report.

A very important report from Coalition for Global Prosperity released today, setting out the important role the UK has (and should continue to pursue) in shaping healthcare across the world. And for those who think world healthcare doesn’t matter to us - just look at the impact of vaccine rollout!
On #WorldMalariaDay , UK scientists are leading the global fight against malaria. The 2nd malaria vaccine developed by researchers at University of Oxford is a milestone for malaria control. Lifesaving efforts are supported by the UK’s £1 billion pledge to The Global Fund to fight malaria.
On #WorldImmunisationWeek , we are proud of the UK’s global success in vaccine research and innovation that has spearheaded advancements against Malaria, Ebola and COVID-19. Life-saving vaccines are a vital step in health and development.
“The world is facing the highest number of violent conflicts since the Second World War'.
In this article, our CEO James Cowan, an advisory council member to Coalition for Global Prosperity, comments on the need for an integrated approach to defence, diplomacy and development.
