I am an alumnus of University of Alberta.

Police beating students on the quad is unacceptable by any measure.

People are claiming that sending police after University of Alberta students is okay because the University grounds are private property and the students were thus trespassing.

As a law professor, let me state that this is a gross mischaracterization of the law.

How can you reasonably argue power imbalance makes asking patient on a date inappropriate - and arguably non-consensual - but suggesting patient die is just friendly advice among pals.

'Because MAiD is portrayed as beneficent for people with disabilities not at the end of life, and because we trust doctors implicitly, we fail to recognize the fallibility of the systems in place to ensure wrongful deaths do not happen.'

Delighted to finally have this article published on why track 2 MAiD is fundamentally discriminatory against people with disabilities and contrary to section 7 and 15 of the Charter. <mjlh.mcgill.ca/publications/v…>
