As adults, we need to stop 'stealing the struggle' from our kids. When we 'steal the struggle', we steal their opportunity for growth & learning.

We need to prepare them for the path (teach resilience, reflection, and self-respect), but we can't prepare the path for them.

One of the main differences between a great team and an average one is that the great teams have players who take responsibility for their behaviors and actions. They know that they represent something far greater than themselves.

Great leaders aren’t perfect.
Great cultures aren’t perfect.
Great teams and organizations aren’t perfect.

Great doesn’t mean perfect. Great means most days you live a high standard and when you do fall short you own it, learn and get better the next day.

Standards ➡️ Collective decision making; ownership; buy in; accountability; influence

A healthy culture doesn't guarantee a win, doesn’t guarantee you won’t face adversity or that things will always go your way. Everyone gets tested. Everyone faces obstacles. Everyone falls down.

Culture determines how you respond to those moments. Build it on purpose.

You either get the culture you allow or you get the culture you build.

Success is a result of doing the small things consistently well over an extended period of time.

The good news about failure—it’s temporary.The bad news about success—it’s temporary. Don’t allow yourself to ride the highs and lows of outcomes. Consistency lies in the process, not the result.

In successful cultures, conflict and tension are not problems to be avoided. They are opportunities for its people to come together and figure things out. In weaker cultures problems are swept under the carpet, only for them to keep rising up again.
