Celia Richardson Always disliked the National Trust because of its deferential attitude to landed property and the aristocracy. But in recent years it has made amends. I became a member last year to help stop the ridiculous, anti-historical attacks on its stance on slavery.

Academics and journalists in the UK, US and Europe are increasingly interested in attacks on the National Trust and other UK institutions. Sadly the attention is warranted, and needed. Charlie is Media Professor at the LSE.
