Honored to co-present at the National AOTA conference in Orlando on OTs role in transition. #inspire2024 #aota24 #AOTAInspire
So proud to have this published & honored to have written it with Deborah Schwind, DHSC, M.ED., OTR/L, BCP, SCSS. Our hope is for OTPs to use this to improve practice & advocate for their role in transition. Aug 23 issue of OT Practice. #occupationaltherapy #transition #postsecondarytransition
There is so much about this that makes me happy. We all have a part. We are all valued. We are all contributors. I have known many of these students since preschool and I could not be happier for them. Kathryn Zielinski #SBHS unitedsound.org

Just came back from AOTA conference and want to commend the KC airport for looking at the needs and abilities of all children. Spotted this in the play area at the airport. Thank you! #AOTAInspire2023 #KansasCity Kansas City International Airport
Thank you Kansas Infinitec for allowing me to share transition strategies, outcomes and best practices with you tonight. CBI can build predictors of success early through meaningful occupational experiences.
Cue the music- leaves are falling, leaves are falling, from the sky…used an ECU to turn on a hairdryer to blow leaves with a switch. So much fun seeing them blow, catching them, picking them up, putting them in and singing some more! Play is an occupation! Judith Schoonover
Can Ss spell and “write” using UDL? Spell and compose w/ PVC frame, magnetic letters, visuals, post it notes. Take a pic, submit it for grade. Use core and Dolch words. Find on AAC device or type on chrome book. Judith Schoonover Katie Robertson LessonPix Wikki Stix CAST
Inspired by Judith Schoonover & Mark Nichols & their MS Makers club! Made a bowling ramp for our new classroom for the occupation of play and the occupation of social participation! Can be used on a WC laptray too. Let the fun begin!
Made so many adapted toys to promote play Judith Schoonover you would be so proud! And I am just getting started. We can all play. Next up PVC bowling ramps for APE fun!
Thank you Katie Robertson Katie Robertson for collaborating w/ me on a UDL presentation focusing on alternatives to writing for our Ss that have so much knowledge to share but cannot perform handwriting skills. Let’s remove the barrier for S success.
Note to self … when you “stop by” a Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools school on the last day, be ready for anything!
I couldn’t say ‘no’ to these 5th graders who were full of excitement, their teachers (who were very convincing), or their school leaders (who gave me no choice). 🤷🏽♀️
Thank you TechACCESS of RI and The Assistive Technology Conference of New England for having me present virtually last night on ways to develop transition skills early using CBI so all students have opportunities for employment upon graduation. #skillsforlife
