Conference season is underway. This week I attended the BSR annual conference. Awesome to see our study being discussed and really enjoyed making some exciting connections for future work.

Timely to see this published as I have just formed part of the EULAR task force updating the PA guidelines. Lots of work but exciting times.

Whirlwind 6 months! New role investigating Rheumatic Disease in adolescents and young adults, a book chapter, 3 systematic reviews (in progress), made chair of BASES paediatric SIG, part of the physical activity and the employment task force for EULAR and a study launch 😳

What a crazy summer! Settling into my new post as a Research Associate at The University of Manchester. My feet haven’t touched the floor over the last year!
I couldn’t be happier investigating Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis for the foreseeable! Lots to get my head around!

Finished! Well, title and abstract screening anyway. Used a machine learning approach this time and the picture says it all. Very slick and something I picked up at ISBNPA this year. Dr Helen Collins full text screening next and then data extraction 👌🏻

Got sent this picture from a friend yesterday. ~15 years apart, 2 very different graduations 🤣. From the jungles of foreign lands to the jungle of EHU, both with their own…… unique challenges!

I have worked with Children’s Health and Exercise Research Centre to help drive the BASES Paediatric SIG for a few years now. I am pleased to confirm I will be stepping up as Chair for the SIG as Craig takes on new challenges. I have big shoes to fill and I am humbled to be entrusted to keep driving the SIG forward BASES🙏🏻
