Harvey Weinstein will have a retrial because evidence given by other accusers meant he didn’t have a fair trial. Whilst white rich men use the courts to appeal and relitigate rape cases, survivors have no right to appeal. Where’s the fair trial for victims?

What Weinstein’s lawyer actually means is, this is a great day for misogynists who believe women lie about rape, and a very dark day for survivors and the justice system.

People assume that when a rapist's conviction is overturned, it's proof that the victims lied.

It isn't. It's almost always a procedural loophole that an expensive, powerful attorney exploited to let a guilty man get away with injustice.

Weinstein and Cosby weren't exonerated.

85 women accused Weinstein of unwanted sexual misconduct ranging from requests for massages to intimidating sexual advances to rape. The accusers include Ashley Judd, Rose McGowan, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Asia Argento.

But apparently all the women are lying.
