A papyrus letter from Egypt, written by Paniskos to his wife Ploutogenia, asking her to travel to Koptos. He asks her to bring olives, wine, wool, their clothes, his military kit, & her gold jewellery - but he warns her not to wear it on the journey!

Evidence of archery Roman Legion Museum Here we have some antler stiffeners for composite bows and some arrowheads. They are all dated to the 3rd century AD. A third of the soldiers in a legion needed to be proficient with a bow.

Even if your inscription has vanished, a good image can convey that you are a (1st/2nd-century AD) soldier, literate, and with some sort of clerical job. This stone was in Aleppo Museum (SYR) before the civil war; current fate unknown.
