The President of the Republic appointed Counsellor for Foreign Affairs Päivi Peltokoski to serve as Head of Mission at Finland’s Embassy in Nicosia, starting on 1 September 2024.

The Former State Secretary of #Finland 🇫🇮, Pertti Torstila, led a delegation to pay tribute at the #Finnish memorial in the United Nations Protected Area, to mark #60years of #UNFICYP in #Cyprus . Finland was one of the 1st countries to contribute peacekeepers to the Mission in 1964. #A4P

🇫🇮 Alexander Stubb has been appointed the President of Finland, succeeding Sauli Niinistö who served as the President for 12 years.

It was a pleasure today to attend with many other EU-colleagues and Mario Nava, Director General, EC DG Reform, the inauguration ceremony of the EU Infopoint (EUIP) in Lefkosa. EUIP aims to bring the Turkish Cypriot community closer to the EU by sharing information on aid etc.

Last week we attended European Conference for Gender Budgeting in Nicosia.

Great discussions about gender equality and the efforts still needed in Gender Budgeting.
