Is there such a thing as the Sussex Everglades?
Charlie Burrell takes us splashing through what was a low-yielding wheat field in 2001, but is now a high-yielding wetland for biodiversity where we’ve found GC newt, breeding little grebes, scarce chaser & pond water-crowfoot πŸ’¦

Our 4th guiding principle : Increase Habitat Diversity At Every Level

eg, generally, more biodiversity will be supported by:
Mosaics of habitat in close proximity, like below
A more diverse cropping rotation
Grasslands with a wide mix of sward heights

And found on the Quantocks. We might be heading into winter but these wonderful hills have great wildlife sightings throughout the year.

A cold and misty start to the day here in Glastonbury. Looking out over the Somerset levels on the first proper frost of the year with the mist forming was just magical.
