Earlier today, Education Minister Paul Givan announced a £25million package of measures for early learning and childcare in Northern Ireland.

Education Minister Paul Givan visited East Belfast Sure Start today to meet staff, parents and children following his announcement of a £25million package of measures to support children, parents and providers with early learning and childcare in 2024/25.

Today we met with Minister Paul Givan , and MPs Gavin Robinson and Claire Hanna to discuss a proposal for spending the £25million that Melted Parents submitted to the Minister on 7th May. We are happy to share that the Minister accepted some of our recommendations 🧵

🏆Restoration of Templemore Baths won the Heritage Project category.

🏆Transformation of St Colmgall's won the Refurbishment/Revitalisation Project award.

Today's agreement between HMG & NI Exec is positive news. The case for a needs-based funding formula is one I have been making relentlessly with the Govt for some time. These first steps towards change come as a direct result of DUP action, influence & perservance at Westminster.

A constructive discussion with the Shadow Secretary of State and the NI Education Minister Paul Givan regarding the education challenges in Northern Ireland.
