Dr. Katalin Karikó was awarded a 2022 Canada Gairdner International Award 'For their pioneering work developing nucleoside-modified mRNA and lipid nanoparticle (LNP) drug delivery: the foundational technologies for the highly effective COVID-19 mRNA vaccines.'

Dr. Weissman was presented the 2022 Canada Gairdner International Award by US Consul General Susan R. Crystal, Heather Munroe-Blum, Chair of Gairdner’s Board of Directors, and Sommer Wedlock, Gairdner EVP.
