ECHR ruling on Swiss women's case that their human rights were violated by climate inaction is huge. Pay attention UK Government...your failure to act is putting lives here in the UK at risk too - and it is morally and legally indefensible.

The Swiss government genuinely argued that older Swiss people aren't victims of their climate inaction because some of them will be dead by the time we reach 1.5C of global warming. Unsurprisingly, they lost the case.

Current climate pledges and targets have us still on track for up to nearly 4C of warming by 2100 📈

The message is clear: governments must rapidly act to cut emissions in line with the science.
