Today we continued our celebration of the EU's 2004 enlargement. For a special lunch I hosted Ambassadors from the Member States and from countries now on the path to EU accession. Their governments are working hard to make the changes needed to join our family. And we need them.

The US is our most important strategic ally. We'll continue our close cooperation on Ukraine and within NATO.

The House of Representatives sent a strong message to Putin: The West stays united. Germany, the second largest donor to Ukraine, and Europe will continue to do what is needed, to prevent Putin from winning his war. We know: Ukraine also fights for our values and our freedom.

Iran has directly attacked 🇮🇱. We condemn this act of aggression. It is one of the most dangerous military provocations in the Middle East for decades. My thoughts are with my friends in Israel and the region. We absolutely need to make sure this does not spiral out of control.
