We've had a number of questions about the suitability of the GM Ringway for cyclists. The truth is, the trail has been created for walkers using existing paths where only some can be used by cyclists.

However, Run to Explore👣™️ is creating an unofficial cycling route that mirrors ours!

There's a village that lies beneath Greenbooth Reservoir.

If you've tackled Stages 11 or 12 then you may have noticed a plaque about the village of Green Booth that was flooded in the 1960s to create the reservoir.

Try Stage 8 from Broadbottom to Greenfield.

It also offers a climb into the Peak District, breathtaking views over Saddleworth's Chew Valley and a leisurely finish via Chew Piece Plantation.

We walked Stage 6 of the new GM Ringway (300km around Greater Manchester) earlier this week. Poppy did very well on the train to Manchester Piccadilly, then over to Strines, and absolutely loved exploring somewhere new. Look forward to the remaining 19 stages.

Come with us on our recent trip from Didsbury to Bramhall!

This historical 7.3 mile hike will take you by the Grade l-listed St Mary's Church which dates back to 1530, and Bramhall Park, with its woodlands, ponds, play area and cafe, making it a great place for the family.

📢We've teamed up with local charity, Forever Manchester, to raise money for community projects across Greater Manchester.

📢We've a temporary Stage 5 diversion between Middlewood and Strines.

The main route between the Macclesfield Canal and Lyme Park is temporarily closed because of Network Rail work.

For now, follow the route that remains on the canal southwards updated on the Go Jauntly app.
