Buddha Iconography

Buddha was not depicted as a human for a long time & the first Buddha statue was built two centuries after his death. So actual buddha never looked like what we know today.

Here Buddha is depicted wearing a fine muslin fabric garment typical style.

RAJA RAM MOHAN ROY, 1820
Ivory Painting.

This painting is wrong on so many levels:-
1. RRM Roy was never this thin.
2. If painting done in 1820 then he must be around 50 yrs old.
3. Raja died in 1833 so this painting must be before sati abolition.

Something is wrong here.🤔

Historians blame Mir Jaffer for taking help of EIC to dethrone Sirajuddaula. One should never forget that Siraj himself was a BAD ruler that people wanted to get rid off him badly.
