Decriminalization is meant to get cops, courts & jails out of our lives. It is not meant to get us clean or solve all other problems in society. Remember when critics blamed homelessness (and everything else) on Insite? The right in BC wants to follow Oregon & RE-criminalize us.

NHRC vehemently opposes the criminalization of people who are houseless. Everyone deserves to have a roof over their head, & criminalizing poverty is wrong. Any step to criminalize people who are houseless will greatly impact people who use drugs, putting lives at risk.

Don't believe the conservative hype. There is no 'addiction crisis.' Stats Canada notes a decrease in prevalence of 'Substance Use Disorder' from 2012-2022. Dillies are not creating a 'new opioid epidemic.' But those of us already wired are dying fast.
