When I asked Minister Kahlon about it yesterday in Housing Budget Estimates, he seemed more interested in scoring political points than answering my very basic question: where are displaced renters supposed to go?

The province’s rental protection fund is supposed to help nonprofits buy buildings like this one in Esquimalt, but it’s not getting the results we desperately need.

We desperately need more housing, both market and non-market. But government must have a plan for the people who are displaced when affordable housing is knocked down to build that new housing.
