'Animal Joy' by Nuar Alsadir is great on laughter as a form of crying, at least that's how I read it. Best book I've read in ages.

The word Sambo hits me like the N-word. In 'Ireland it traditionally means sandwich. He/She have 'traditional' meanings but if someone's non-binary is it offensive to insist on 'tradition'? Could we bin Sambo for sandwich please.

Recently, I stood in front of a BIG poet at a hotel & felt an energy of impatience that seared into my back. Just read a poem by them that mentions the density of stars etc. Inspired me to write about the gap between who we are & what we write. 💫
