Well said Ben Elton. For UK Gov to use language of “invasion” to describe refugees seeking protection & exercising their right to is xenophobia at its worst. UK has followed Australia’s shameful example. Dehumanise. Demonise. Torture for not dying at sea.

Remember every time you hear a politician speak of as invading their nation, they’re using the language, fear, hate and imagery of the Nazis. This is how they depicted Jewish refugees, as rats invading. How ever & especially in 2022 is this acceptable?

The irony of the UK, a nation that has invaded and colonised more than half the world and is the largest supplier of arms globally, thus fuelling countless wars, calling refugees fleeing the global wars they’ve helped sustain as “invading” is just gobsmacking.

A migrant detention centre has just been fire-bombed.

Any Home Secretary with integrity would use temperate, judicious language.

But no. Suella Braverman just referred to an 'invasion on our southern coast' - disgusting, inflammatory & designed to whip up hate.

Shame on her.

Disgusted to hear Suella Braverman say there's an 'invasion on our southern coast', just a day after a migrant detention centre was fire-bombed.

Language like this – portraying migrants as 'invaders' – whips-up hate & spreads division.

She's totally unfit to be Home Secretary.

Asylum policy is getting very, very dark. Concentrating refugees in overcrowded, diseased camps. Accusing them of ‘invasion’ and blaming them for society’s ills. Measuring their bodies to apply pseudo-science. Shipping them off to third countries far away. independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi…

A reminder the current Australian Government has budgeted in the exact same amount of money to “support” people seeking asylum in community as Dutton and Morrison did.

In other words, they’ve left tens of thousands of people seeking asylum with zero income support.

One guy’s business plan for a $44 billion over-leveraged purchase is apparently to run around and individually ask people for $8.

Remember that next time you question yourself or your qualifications.

The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre never has & never will take funding from the Federal Government so we can tell it like it is, that’s our job

While we remain hopeful of real change, right now people seeking asylum in the community are no better off than they were under Morrison

What are u doing on Sunday 20th of November in Melbourne? What about joining me on an amazing challenge in support of refugees. I’m walking 50km straight for the ASRC and asking people to sponsor me. Walk with me, all or some of it. Sign up today! bit.ly/3RKxLDm
