My father didn’t pass away.
He was assassinated.

A 1967 poll reflected that he was one of the most hated men in America.

Most hated.

Many who quote one line, tweet egregious AI photos of him, and evoke him to deter justice actually despise .

“The state is not saying that women have reproductive options. Therefore, as a person who is trying to control another human being, that sends a signal to me that I don’t have to give her those options either.”

If you had never before 303 Creative spent a moment thinking about public accommodations law, you have the option of not commenting. It would give you some time to read work by folks - like me - who actually know what they are talking about. Until then a few helpful pointers, 👇

Excellent analysis by Kate Shaw on how the SC continues to privilege (Christian) religious rights over a wide range of other rights and values.

We knew this was coming. Guns v. women. I fear the worst from this court which looks to a 'history' when DV was legal and women had no rights. nejm.org/doi/full/10.10…

The biggest danger lies in the fact that the conservative justices see antidiscrimination law as targeting speech. A law that has always been seen to regulate conduct in commerce becomes government elimination of dissent. Any civil rights law could come into the crosshairs

I am more likely to die of pregnancy-related complications than my mother and grandmother were- this despite significant advances in medicine and technology. There’s nothing wrong with me biologically, but there is something very wrong with the systems we live within.

This amazing piece from Poppy Noor resonated with me so much. Being pregnant post-Dobbs, even in a state that permits abortion, changed my experience of pregnancy. She captured the resentment and vulnerability so well. theguardian.com/us-news/2023/j…

One more time ICYMI this weekend. New from me, Greer Donley, and Rachel Rebouche in New York Times Opinion arguing for a strategy to overturn Dobbs. This idea has been surprisingly absent over the past year. But it shouldn't be. We need to get to work on this NOW. /1 nytimes.com/2023/06/24/opi…
