We can’t let #StGeorgesDay go by without sharing our own image of the saint accompanying Queen Margaret of Denmark in Hugo van der Goes’ spectacular altarpiece made for Trinity. He is so delicious, right down to his decorative chainmail.
Trinity had an altar dedicated to him too!
#StGeorgesDay The Society for the Protection of Clearly Pathetic and Defenceless Dragons really object to this kind of behaviour from St George Bodleian Libraries MS. Auct. D. inf. 2. 11 f. 44v #DragonsofTwitter
The remains of a 15th century tomb at Elgin Cathedral in Moray. The tomb is that of John de Winchester who served as Bishop of Moray from 1435 - 1460. #TombTuesday 📸 My own.
