I got a 4kg sack of UK Shallots as a gift. Made a Kerala-style shallot curry with roasted coconut, tamarind and jaggery. Came out so well! Popped the recipe on my Insta and shallot season commences here in July FYI. Pickled some and peeled and froze the rest

Had an amazing Afghani/Pakistani meal at the Tooting branch of Watan, the most expansive of the sites seating 350+. We went well ahead of Iftar and could feel the buzz ahead of it as the restaurant filled up. Kebab platter and Mantu dumplings were ace - go hungry!
