In response to my question about whether he’d seek the speakership again after the November election, Speaker Johnson said “I intend to lead this conference in the future.”

“The most important thing that we have to do right now is govern the country well,“ he said.

After meeting for two hours, Reps. Greene and Massie emerge from Speaker Johnson's office only to say that they will meet again tomorrow. Greene did not say whether a resolution came close to being reached.
