Sean was a real living link to the post-war literary scene in Dublin.

His memories of people like John Jordan, Kathleen Behan, Michael Hartnett and Liam O'Flaherty were fantastic. He predated Paddy O'Brien in Grogans, he even predated Tommy Smith on the premises.

It would be remiss of me not to mention that Samuel Beckett was born #OTD in 2006 - my portrait of him hangs in the The Hist Trinity College Dublin - I am proud to have been elected the vice president of the officially recognised oldest student society and debating society the world!
