Sean was a real living link to the post-war literary scene in Dublin.

His memories of people like John Jordan, Kathleen Behan, Michael Hartnett and Liam O'Flaherty were fantastic. He predated Paddy O'Brien in Grogans, he even predated Tommy Smith on the premises.

It was sad

Once our architectural heritage is gone, it's gone forever!
The Green Branch Post Office, mentioned in Episode 9 of James Joyce's Ulysses. Unfortunately, the building was demolished by Ulster Bank in 1975 after the post office was relocated to Andrew Street.
