Just 11 moths of 5 species in the wind and rain last night. 2 Dark Sword-grass and the first White Ermine of the year worth a mention. St Mellion VC2.

Saharan dust may skim eastern parts of England tomorrow evening. Coupled with mild SE winds, it's possible dispersing moths (nr Continent and from further afield) will make it to the SE/E coast.

29 moths of 16 species last night in St Mellion. New for year Spruce Carpet, Small Phoenix & Peppered Moth. Also, Frosted Green, Streamer, 4 Brindled Beauty, Pebble Prominent, Muslin, Great Prominent & 2 Flame Shoulder. Immigrants were 1 Dark Sword-grass & 2 Silver Y to ni lure

Dark Sword-grass (Agrotis ipsilon), to light on evening of 25/4. The total for this species now stands at 222 for the year. St Mellion, Cornwall (VC2).

26 moths of 12 species in St Mellion last night. Highlights were new for garden Pseudoswammerdamia combinella, plus a couple of likely Elachista cannapenella. Best of the rest were Shoulder Stripe, 5 Brindled Beauty, Lunar Marbled Brown, 5 Muslin Moth and Delicate.

Some nice NFY species in the home (13 of 7) and work (23 of 17) traps overnight (photos). The Ni lure at home attracted a Silver Y. Migrant Lepidoptera in work were Silver Y, Turnip Moth and 2 Dark Sword-grass
