Today I re - potted these Alcantarea imperialis.
seed grown by my friend Sean Boast
photo 2 shows a 1l pot they have been in for the past 2yrs.
I drilled extra drainage holes in the pots then placed mesh in the Bottom then a layer of Hydroleca before adding my special compost.

Today I repotted all of our Justicia.
Justicia carnea . ( The Brazilian plume flower )
Justicia carnea alba .( The White Brazilian plume flower )
Justicia aurea (Yellow Jacobinia )
Justicia radicans
Justicia scheidweileri ( The Purple Shrimp Plant )

#FernFriday Japanese Lady fern Deparia petersenii . This will be being planted out in our garden this year as should be hardy for us here in Dorset 🌿

Paulownia in the garden this evening starting to put out some decent growth I will soon cut the smallest shoots off leaving one to grow on to produce those enormous leaves later in the year

Senecio cristobalensis unfortunately no sunshine as it looks its best when the sun hits its fine red hairs , but still looking pretty good 😁

The new growth is just stunning on our seed grown Oreopanax, (sown as O.niger ) but highly unlikely with such fine cut leaves 🌿

Sooooo Chuffed just been down the greenhouse and the hot weather must have been the perfect temperature to get the Brassaiopsis hispida seeds to germinate , these were sown at the beginning of April and left on the bench in the greenhouse not in a prop , I count 19 🌱

Nesocodon mauritianus grown from seed about four years ago.With its red nectar that attracts gecko’s that pollinate the plant by feeding on the Sweet nectar.

If you’ve visited our Botanical jungle garden here in Poole , you will know that most of the plants ,around 40% are not hardy , so our garden is quite empty until now when the tender plants are planted in the garden for Summer

I managed to pick up a flowering Musa velutina at a local nursery last week .
I’m now looking forward to seeing the pink bananas grow ,as they should befull of little black seeds 😁🌱🪴

This years solanum seedlings starting to put on some decent growth at last

So chuffed , we have two flower buds on our Aechme covata

This must be the most prolific early flowering plant in our garden and so many buds still to flower , and yes they really do stink .

We went away for a few days and I love coming back to see what’s germinated one surprise was a whole pot of Bocconia frutescens , none before we left last Friday and now 17 are visibly germinating
